Dave Hirsch

Dave Hirsch is the co-founder of MICI Coatings, and is currently the Vice President of Business, Marketing and Development, where he is responsible for operations and account management, and is the manager of business development.

In his nearly 30 years in the business, Dave has witnessed first-hand the continued advancements in technology, increased speed to market, and ever-growing pressure to perform that has made success all the more challenging in the field. He has responded by encouraging MICI Coatings to celebrate its successes, but to never be satisfied. In setting the bar higher and higher every year, Dave has helped MICI Coatings continue its traditions of growth and success.

Like his co-founder Dan Seeler, Dave is also a former two-sport college athlete, excelling in hockey and soccer. It’s no surprise then to hear these competitive mantras in the MICI Coatings work place. Dave expects to outwork his opponents, and to never rest on his laurels. It’s an attitude that fueled his success in athletics and continues to drive him in business today.

Dave maintains one seemingly unorthodox business philosophy: “I always seek to hire people smarter than me.” This approach leads to the creation of a talented, hard working and dedicated employee base. According to Dave, “Our employees are our greatest asset.”

To still be in business after all these years, having created a sense of brand loyalty among his customers and maintaining life-long friendships with business associates are some of Dave’s proudest accomplishments at MICI Coatings.

Dave has three kids and has been married for nearly thirty years. He still plays hockey, runs half-marathons, enjoys golf and is finally learning to enjoy travel for pleasure. Dave is on the Board of Directors for the Alumni Association at the College of Saint Scholastica and has coached special needs adults in training for the Special Olympics for the last ten years.
